Seattle Waterfront Real Estate Tour: Renton's Lake Washington Waterfront in Kennydale
7023 Ripley Lane N, Renton WA 98056
Easy Living on Kennydale's Lake Washington Waterfront
I spent the day touring the Eastside waterfront with clients yesterday, from the North end of Juanita down to this final home in Kennydale, the Northern tip of Renton on Lake Washington. Every neighborhood exudes its own distinct feel, and the essence of Kennydale is laid-back living.
Renton Kennydale Waterfront Home
While the homes are gorgeous, well-built, and have views of some of the calmest waters on Lake Washington, there's also no pretense or ostentatiousness. The homes and the streets are well-maintained, but not gated. Home styles vary, but most have a traditional lake house feel-no columns, towering chandeliers, or formal double staircases.
Lake Washington Waterfront Home
This three story home on Ripley Lane enjoys the assets of new construction design. Built in the 1990s, its focus is on open living space facing the water, with the vast majority of the 3630 square feet going to dining, entertaining, and lounging. It's hard to walk anywhere in the home without seeing the lake.

Entering from the street-side two car garage, the home immediately opens into a formal dining area, which descends a short staircase to an open kitchen, dining nook, and living room. The full-height windows dominate the Western wall, and a large deck off the living room provides for a large outdoor eating space.
Lake Washington waterfront master bedroom
Directly above, the master suite shares the same vantage point, spanning the full width of the home. With the cavernous master bath and walk-in closets, this suite covers almost the entire top floor of the home, a proper private getaway for a signature home. Another outdoor deck extends off the master's french doors.

To call the lower level a "rec room" would be less than poetic, but it has a playful atmosphere, with high quality finishes. The wet bar, entertainment room, full bath, and open spaces flow smoothly out to the lakefront grounds, and it's easy to imagine entertaining a large group of guests in the space. It could be a perfect summer getaway for the extended family.
Seattle Waterfront float plane seaplane
The waterfront is 52 feet, a solid swatch of lakefront, and accomodates a 64 foot dock, recently upgraded to all-weather material. Oh yes, the floatplane and its dock-what better toy to show off on Lake Washington? There's still plenty of space for large watercraft moorage with the plane floating off the Western tip of the dock.

This Kennydale home is the essence of easy luxury living on the waterfront, and is listed currently at $1.75 million. Drive up, boat in, fly out-it's nice to have options.
